Même si cette musique est en général plutôt rapide et assez agressive, certains morceaux ou certains passages sont parfois plus doux et plus reposants, un certain nombre de textes parlent même de l'émerveillement devant les beautés de la création, au lieu d'être centrés uniquement sur une fascination malsaine pour la violence ou pour la mort.

Si les thèmes abordés sont effectivement le plus souvent imaginaires ou fantastiques, la beauté de la musique et des chants n'en est pas moins bien réelle lorsqu'elle se manifeste presque miraculeusement dans les morceaux les plus réussis, le sentiment de joie ou de puissance que cette musique nous fait partager, l'enthousiasme qu'elle éveille en nous est bien réel.

C'est un peu comme lorsque Michel Henry parle du sentiment d'angoisse éprouvé durant un simple rêve : cette angoisse n'en est pas moins bien réelle, puisqu'elle est effectivement éprouvée, même si c'est durant notre sommeil. Car la réalité absolue réside selon lui dans l'affectivité et dans l'auto-révélation immédiate du sentiment.

Il est d'ailleurs dommage que les auteurs de ces compositions et de ces morceaux de métal symphonique se croient obligés d'avoir recours presque systématiquement à l'évocation de la souffrance et de l'angoisse pour mettre en valeur le calme et la joie qui leur succèdent. Comme si le sentiment de plénitude et de joie ne pouvait se suffire à lui-même, comme s'il avait toujours besoin de son contraire pour pouvoir être pleinement savouré...


Les étoiles attribuées aux morceaux de musique correspondent à une évaluation personnelle de la qualité subjective de ces morceaux, c'est-à-dire de leur beauté intérieure et du sentiment d'émerveillement qu'ils nous apportent lorsque nous les écoutons avec attention. Ces étoiles ne concernent que les morceaux qui me semblent les plus intéressants, les autres étant tout simplement ignorés car je préfère me concentrer sur ce qui me plaît et m'entousiasme vraiment.
